Poste/Position

The purpose of this position is to provide specialised database support to software architecture and development teams. These engineering teams depend on database expertise to optimise the design and development of products.

Responsabilités/Responsibilities

    This position is a specialised position, dealing with the database-related aspects of software architecture, support to the technical teams and advice on both software development and implementation teams.

    The responsibilities associated with this position include:

  • Work with software architecture teams to optimise design specifications.
  • Provide support to software development teams on software design, database integration, optimisation and in a high-availability environment to support messaging services, roaming etc..
  • Deal with customers at implementation, working with them on improved database configuration and management, improved performance and service quality.
  • Train software development teams on database deployment and optimisation.
  • Work on specific aspects of code to develop new software functions and improve existing modules (C, mySQL, relational databases)
  • Develop documentation to support design, implementation and use of products.

 

Profil/ Profile

  • Appropriate engineering degree or equivalent technical education.

  • Several years' experience in database architecture and software design.

  • Knowledge of the specific constraints on databases imposed by huge data volumes generated mobile operators.

  • Experience of database optimisation and performance, high-availability, redundancy etc..

  • A strong background in database implementation and administration.

  • Experience in communicating effectively with both software teams, management and customers.

  • Excellent spoken and written English.
