Director of Sales

(Software to the Oil and Gas industry)


Summary: The purpose of this position is to open new business with defined clients and generate sustainable revenue from the sale of 3D Visualisation software in the Oil and Gas industry. This is a real Director of Sales position!

Client

Our client  develops, markets and supports software solutions that enable visual collaboration on large 3D Datasets through low bandwidth networks. The company has invented innovative technology to enable access, visualization, and collaboration on exceptionally complex 3D datasets. 
Today, the company provides solutions dedicated to the Oil and Gas industry and has established partnerships in the Aerospace industry. The company holds patents for several innovative technologies related to massive 3D visualization. Headquarters are located in Sophia-Antipolis (France).
 

Position

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Sales is responsible for the development of new business and the sale of software to the Oil and Gas industry, first in Europe and later in the US and worldwide.
 

Responsibilities

  • Open new business with new clients in the oil and gas and exploration industry in Europe, generating revenue and margin in line with pre-determined targets.
  • Act as the primary liaison point for the key global accounts.
  • Implement a sales strategy in line with the company's business plan and roadmap, reporting to the company's senior management and board.
  • Take responsibility for sales Operations and implement measures to ensure the business achieves the projected growth, including the recruitment of an effective sales team.
  • Generate and qualify leads, providing clients  and prospects with marketing and sales support at business events, trade-shows, etc..
  • Maintain and increase sales to the existing customer base and use the existing base to leverage sales and build references.
  • Explore opportunities and open new business within other strategic market sectors (aerospace, etc).

Profile

  • With a strong background in software sales to the Oil and Gas industry, you have extensive experience in the positioning, marketing and sale of complex solutions in this market.
  • Wide experience in customer-facing activities, including prospecting, presenting and selling complex software products.
  • Familiarity with the oil and gas industry, with the market, the sales cycle and buying patterns in that segment.
  • Significant knowledge of marketing and stratgy, including product definition, positioning and pricing.
  • Preferably, a knowledge of massive 3D visualisation solutions, similar to Schlumberger's Petrel or Mercury's advanced 3D visualisation software.

Remuneration

The package associated with this position includes a very high on-target earnings (OTE), including base salary, commissions and bonuses, expenses and other advantages.
